THINK, PLAN, IMPROVE - Making Good Choices

Upon occasion, in order to keep the classroom environment as safe and productive as possible, some students may be asked to fill out a "Think, Plan, Improve" sheet if they are having difficulty remembering or respecting classroom rules and routines. The purpose of these sheets is to help make students more reflective and responsible by reminding them to use more self-discipline and self-control inside the classroom. These sheets are only given to students who have already received repeated warnings about the concern or issue that is being addressed. It is also intended to serve as a form of communication between home and school in that students who complete a "Think, Plan, Improve" sheet will be expected to take it home to be signed by a parent and/or guardian. Should one of these sheets come home with your child, it is my hope that you will take some time to discuss the matter with him/her in order to set reasonable goals to improve the behaviour that has been identified. Once students realize that we are working together to help them acquire safe and productive learning habits, they will make more of an effort to think about the choices they make throughout the day and into the future. As I often say to my students in class, "Life is full of choices, choose carefully."
