This is how it is expected to unfold.
a.m. Schedule:Students come to school dressed in their usual clothing but should bring their costumes with them to put on AFTER LUNCH. The class will be spending the morning watching a Halloween suitable movie.
p.m. Schedule: Immediately after lunch, students will be encouraged to change into their costumes in preparation for Elizabeth Simcoe's annual Halloween parade that marches through every classroom and then outside around the school if weather permits. The rest of the afternoon will consist of Halloween related activities and a party (which is primarily a playtime and snacking to music). Students are welcome to bring in Halloween treats to distribute to their peers, and a snack to share with the whole class. Although I do allow all manners of snacks at classroom parties (so long as they DON'T CONTAIN ANY NUTS, FISH, OR OMEGA 3 EGGS), I still always encourage families to send in healthy snacks as much as possible. Also, please ensure that your child brings in an extra drink or two to have during the morning movie and at the afternoon party.
Parents are welcome to drop by the school for the parade which usually begins at about 1:15 p.m. and you may want to bring your cameras to capture photos of the ghouls and creatures wandering the halls.
